claims procedure

Should you be involved in a motor claim please make sure you take every necessary precaution to ensure your ongoing safety whilst at the scene.

In the first instance, a claim must be notified either to us or directly with the insurer. The insurer’s contact details will be in your policy document, alternatively please use our Claim Finder to locate the information.

Please note that any claims made on a policy may affect your no claims bonus and following renewal premium.

Following notification, the insurer will, in most cases, issue a claim form to you, which must be completed and returned before the claim can continue. This document contains questions relating to the loss incurred and the situation or event surrounding the loss.

Upon receipt of the claim form the insurer will either appoint a loss adjuster, request supporting evidence as to the value of the claim (i.e. an extract from a car sales magazine with a similar spec car illustrating the market price of the vehicle) or offer part or full settlement of the claim.

NB. No one claim is ever the same and as such the claims procedure described above can only be interpreted as an overview. In each instance of a claim you will be kept fully informed of the progress of that claim.
